Supportive co-exploration of emotions and patterns that so often underlie mental health symptoms can increase hope, facilitate personal and relational connection, and improve overall wellness. Carrie aims to create a warm and safe environment that encourages individuals, families, and couples to identify, explore, and heal their particular areas of pain. Clinical interests include trauma and attachment with an understanding of the ways the brain, nervous system, emotions, and relationships are impacted throughout the lifespan.
Other professional interests include depression, anxiety, addiction, LGBTQ issues, women’s issues, grief and loss, relational conflict, and life transitions. Carrie is EMDRIA trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and utilizes a relational and individualized approach informed by psychodynamic, mind-body, attachment, multicultural and systemic theories. She believes in each person's innate wisdom and capacity to heal and in the importance of welcoming clients with acceptance wherever they begin. Carrie is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. She has provided psychotherapy in outpatient, school-based, in-home, and chemical health treatment settings with individuals of all ages, as well as with families, and couples.
